Updated Monthly Meeting details (2007/10/22)
Please note that the club has now decided on a new regular monthly meeting venue. You can now find us at the Garage Cafe in Carlton on the first Tuesday of the month.
Early in 1968 a group of enthusiastic and far sighted Mazda owners got together to discuss their mutual interest in their (then) very new and stylish Mazda 1500 cars. From this initial meeting, further meetings and discussions occurred and culminated in the creation in May 1968 of The Mazda Car Club of Australia (The MCCA). Its aims were simply to enable members to have the opportunity to share and enjoy their shared interests in their car, to organise social , sporting, and technically informative events for the enjoyment and benefit of the members.
Those original aims are just as valid today as they were at those earlier formative times. With all the enthusiasm and dedication of those initial few members, and then ably added to by many more that subsequently followed over the ensuing years, the MCCA grew and prospered and has thus been able to offer its’ members much enjoyment in sporting and social activities either run directly by the club or in conjunction with invitations from other like-minded clubs and associations.
If you enjoy your car and driving, if you enjoy good company and having a good time, then the MCCA could be just the thing for you. You will get the chance to mix and mingle with like-minded people with a shared interest, enjoying pleasant social events, friendly discussions on all sorts of motoring matters, driver and road safety education, plus access to, and the possible involvement in, a wide range of club level motorsport events.
The range of activities that the club offers encompasses everything from monthly meetings, social nights, drive-day tours and picnics, club level motor sport events to suit both beginners and more experienced drivers (including closed-circuit race track timed events, motorkhana and maneuverability trials, economy runs, etc.), and technical visits to specialised workshops.
In addition to all these features, activities and possible benefits you will also receive an informative monthly newsletter MAZTORQUE, plus the opportunity for some discounts on parts and service for your car from a range of selected service providers.
Even though the club was primarily set up by and for Mazda owners and drivers, other non-Mazda owners and drivers are also very welcome to join the club as associate members and participate in all club activities.
We invite you to join the club.

| Mazda MX-5 Club of W.A. Inc |
The Mazda MX-5 Club of W.A. Inc is part of the biggest one-model car club in the world. Founded in November 1990, with support from Mazda WA, it grew quickly to number over 100 members with a full calendar of social and sporting events. It is affiliated with similar MX-5 Clubs in the other mainland states of Australia, who jointly arrange a biennial 5-day National Meeting, with over 100 attendees. The WA Club won the Champion State Trophy at the inaugural NatMeet, held in Adelaide in 1994.
Although totally independent in management and funding, it enjoys the continuing support of Mazda WA and all Mazda dealers statewide, with whom it jointly promotes a number of special events through the year and offer club members a discount of 15% off RRP for Parts and Servicing.
The Members range in age from late teens with “L plates” through to more than triple that figure, with both young and old making valuable contributions to the Club’s management and activities. Membership is almost equally split between male/female; the MX-5 is a car that knows no boundaries, and has universal appeal!
The Club has regular Monthly Cruises and Committee Meetings to which all members are welcome, and also numerous social gatherings. Many members have found a whole new world of like-minded people, and a number of firm friendships have been established over the 17 years that the Club has been established. The Club committee encourages members to take a role in organising activities and being involved in the Club’s operations. Five of the original 18 founder members are still actively involved in the Club.

What does the Mazda MX-5 Club of Queensland do?
Our members enjoy diverse types of activities, we cater for all tastes. Our club activities combine a variety of motor sport events with social drives, social (inexpensive) dining, driver training, picnics and weekends away with people who enjoy driving their cars. Technical information nights are also arranged to help you meet new members and perhaps understand your car a little bit better.
What kind of person joins the MX-5 Club?
At present we have about 170 “cars” as members whose proud owners range in age from early 20’s to late 70’s and whose interests vary greatly covering social, technical, and sporting! Consequently, there are many people that you will immediately relate to.
What’s in it for me…?
Every second month you will receive a newsletter called the “Rag-Top Review” which contains all the goings-on within the club and the latest information about the MX-5 from Australia and around the world. And as of recently, Rag-top Review can now be downloaded in .pdf version.
Members are automatically subscribed to the mx5qld-announcements mailing list, through which you will be kept up to date with Club notices as well as all notice of all the social and sporting events put on by the Club and affiliated associations. To control email volume, this is a closed list, which can only be posted to by the Committee.
Members also receive discounts on parts and service for their MX-5 and discounts at other various locations & businesses (not just automotive). Also members can participate in club events such as driver training at “club” prices.
The Club also runs an online forum and mailing list, called mx5qld, where members and other enthusiasts can share advice, anecdotes, opinions and general chat, as well as post photos of their cars and Club activities and technical information. Joining this Group is voluntary, so why not have a look or join online.
